One of the guys who reads my newsletter has owned
three #80 Martin backs over the years (but one now).
I may be able to pick up a scan -- and IIRC, there was
one in Wayne D's card images disk.

Take care,

Waiver wire... October 1, the baseball season is now over, hopefully
your team has made it to the post-.

So to celebrate the end of 162, how about some free stuff? I picked
up a few of the footballers on Sims hoping to send em out to
someone. I don't collect football at all, so claim away!

1959 Topps 77 93 113
1977 Topps 131
1978 Topps 51 144 355 508
1979 Topps 40 196 313 456 495x2

And in the BASEBALL arena, I'm gonna offer these up:
1978 Topps, about 400 cards
1979 Topps, about 100 cards
1980 Topps, about 1000 cards.
Just send your lists for these three sets, if you're still working
on them.

And please include your address. Hope I can help.

So there you have it Ray, if I'm going to have Mantle RC's on my list why not include the `60 Fleer Martin card!! Both will be near impossible to attain, but I can always dream. BE WELL!!!

Guys: I have many star/HOF cards to trade many (but not all) of which are in
higher grade condition (VG, Ex, Ex/Mt or better) if that is your cup of tea.If
interested I'll trade them for any pre-war cards in G or better you might
want to part with. I'll definitely make it worth your while (I thinkChris
and Aaron will vouch for that.

These are cards from the big collection I bought 4 years ago that I should sell
but just don't have the time or desire to start that again.

Only a fraction of what I have is on my Dups link so don't rely on that.

The last of the 1964s are all gone. Next I'm going to pass out my 1958s.
There are several hundred. Condition is all over the place, and decidedly not
mint. Slight preference given to anyone who didn't claim 64s. Let's start with
people who are close to finishing the set. If you're within 20 +/- cards of
finishing your 1958 Topps set - please send me your wantlist and I'll try to
hit it. Include your address in your email to speed packing. This is not a
trade -- I'm just passing them out. Bounceback hits are always welcome, but not

Now here is what i don't understand-When i finished typing the numbers

I laugh and say, "hey i know something about statistics and that is

Gary Mandell, Bob Donaldson and Peter Mead have all requested # 295.
But i sure as heck am not going to wash those dishes for a week,
Tim.I just found out from Bob and Peter # 295 is a high number and
therefore a lot harder to find than the others.Tim suckered me into a
bet where i thought all the numbers had equal value and therefore
statistically no # should be requested more than any other but all
the cards are NOT of equal value making #295 the most requested and
because it was an unfair bet i declare the bet null and void and i
don't have to wash dishes for a week.

When i finish getting all the requests for # 295 i will put the
requestors names on pieces of paper and put them in a box and draw
out 1 name to get the card.I just wish i had 10 dupes of # 295 so i
could send one to everyone who requests it- Linda

Marshall West has dubbed the #295 card i made available
the "dishwasher lottery" -What is interesting is i have gotten
requests from 6 members now for this card.I learned that is because
it is a hi # which i didn't know before.
What i need to know is where do the hi #'s start with this set? What
number is the start of the hi #'s because i might be able to get
another one.
I got these 72 topps FB in a trade with another collector at the
local card shop yesterday. He had asked if anyone had Charlie's Angels
cards because he needed some for his set.I brought in some and traded
him 20 Charlie's Angels cards for some of his 72 FB dupes.I just
picked out what looked to be the nicest cards from his dupes box.I am
sure he had one more in the box in the 300's but i passed over it.

Charlie's Angels cards are hot with the local collectors because of
that reunion of them on the Emmey Awards program because of the
recent death of the producer of the show - Aaron Spelling.
There are 253 cards in the Charlie's Angels set and my collector
friend needs a lot more.Fortunately i have a lot of dups from that
Here is the deal guys:Gary Mandell kindly informed me that 72 FB hi
#'s book like $15 each. Those Charlie's Angels cards show up on ebay
in series 1,2,3,4 of 55 cards each. Each series of 55 cards mint
usually goes for around $25 making each card worth about 50 cents
If i can trade a 50 cent Charlie's Angels card for a 72 Topps FB Hi #
worth $15 i will do that all day guys.Let me know where the Hi #'s
start and tomorrow i am going back to the card store with a box of
Charlie's Angels cards ready to trade.
(didn't Spelling also produce the Mod Squad Tv show from the 60's?I
have cards from that show too. After Charlie's Angels maybe that is
the next hot non sports collectable.I know another local non sports
collector who has a few 52 topps hi #'s.I would be happy to trade him
some Mod Squad Tv cards for those.Let see - a $1 Mod Squad card for a
$100 + 52 topps hi #-sounds like a real good trade!)-Linda

Thanks to some OBC activity over the past 4 weeks,
this list is about 40 cards shorter than it was in

Subject: some shorter wantlists for set killers

I thought I would do some experimenting with my wantlist, and lay it
out here in a totally different format than what is on my web list.
I know how much I like to kill sets, and I figured maybe some of you
feel the same. So... here are fifteen of my sets, some of which
only need a handful to finish, some that aren't quite so close. I
know that a lot of these cards are going to be stars, so if you let
me know what you've got, I will see what kind of trade we can work
out. There's a UV side to this list on the other server.

As this month comes to a close, wanted to tick off some new additions to the
#5 type (and virtual) collection.

New arrivals:

1950 Pocket Television Theater - Jackie Robinson, "How to hit" (scan only)

1967 Topps Red Sox Sticker - Hank Fischer (thanks to Bob Donaldson!)

1968 Sports Cards for Collectors - Honus Wagner
1971 Milk Duds - Thuman Munson (scan only)
1974 Bramac 1933 NL All-Stars - Tony Cuccinello
1976 HRT/RES 1942 Play Ball - Charles Wagner
1976 Motorola - Three Fingers Brown

Scans available from the list: http://obcspike.50megs.com/type.html

It becomes an exercise in searching to locate new ones to check off, but the
list below seems "easier" than the really oddball stuff. Let me know if you
have any for trade!

1965 OPC - AL RBI leaders
1975 Hostess - Morgan
1976 Hostess Twinkees - Watson
1977 Hostess Twinkees - Munson
1977 Pepsi Baseball Stars (discs in gloves) - Hargrove
1978 Burger King Astros - J. Neikro
1978 Burger King Rangers - Matlack

OBCers --

I have Spike's 1978 Burger King Joe Niekro, but it's part of a complete set.
Does anyone else want a type card of this set? If I send the single card to
Spike, the other ones will get a bit lonely...please claim a few if you want

By the way, I also have a 1979 Greg Luzinski Burger King Phillies if anybody
wants it.

Take Care, Geno
