Thanks to all this month who have continued to help me in my quest toward the 1000 mark (including variations) for the Topps Baseball run from 1951 to 1980.  All totaled I received about 1 dozen Topps cards this month.  I added 44 "new" variations with the `62 "green tints" so I actually lost a little ground - technically I need 245 cards to reach my goal with all the variations counted that I seek - I still hope this is within my reach over the next 5 months - any help would be appreciated.  Here is the monthly posting of the want list for those of you that would care to assist me - I will do my best to reciprocate.  Here it is:

If I was at the National, I would be sharing the joy of collecting with all of my new OBC friends. Societal pressures that makes me stay employed have forced me to stay home this week while all of you cavort in Chicago without me. Ahh well. There is always next year. Many of you know that I mainly collect basketball, football, and soccer cards, but I have entered the world of bats and gloves to collect some baseball now too. Some of you have asked me to do so and I have listed this new list below. I have none of the cards of the sets so I just listed the sets I am to collect. Its a tough list that I wanted to post in case anyone saw them at the National. The theme is "Latino baseball sets" and it includes the Topps Venezuela sets along with many others. If you know of other sets, let me know of them. Thanks. Pull my list off of the OBC site for further explanation of each set. I have recently added all of the Canadian FB issues, the Fleer Team Action FB issues, and a couple UV issues to my wantlists as well. Just letting everyone know. Have a great week , everyone. Something about those colors and gothic script style team lettering. Oh, and I got a nice #595 Ryan from ebay in the mail the yesterday. Guess it doesn't take much for me to get fired up. Anyway, if anybody has any spare "psychos," I would be happy to trade you for them. At the moment, I have a couple of extra 65's and 68's to trade. Just let me know whatcha need! Hope everybody who is going to the National has a good time. I would love to go some year, but it is going to have to get closer. And I'm not holding my breath waiting for them to pick a southern city to hold it in. There are a few sets, I have listed on my OBC list, virtually right form joining OBC 2 years ago, that have seen little action. Recently I dealt with John Fulgaro who visited the OBC site and found that I had these listed. Although these cards have little value (on the rare occassion I find them they are often under $1, sometimes only $.10) they are tough to find. They are taller than the typical card, similar to the Fleer issues of the early 70s, Pioneers of BB, Wildest Days and Plays, BB Firsts, etc. I had 1 dupe John needed and a single of the last card he needed for the 1970 logo set. John was able to let me know how to distinguish the 1968s from the 1969s from the 1970s. I was unaware there were 3 years. I assumed they were 1 year with variations. John returned a package that was so lopsided for the cards I sent him (I also sent him the only 2 dupes I had of the BB Stadium set. John was a fountain of information regarding these issues and has published a book on sports logos. He sent me the book, along with a couple of 1970 Fleer logo cards and 2 1970 Topps Basketball posters, including Wilt Chamberlain. I figure his package probably booked around $50 (mainly due to Wilt) and he spent over $5 on postage. My pacakge to him, which crossed in the mail, had a value of $4, if the cards were mint, but they were Tipton. I would like to send him some more, even though in an E-mail he told me he was satisfied with our trade (great OBC attitude). If anyone has any of these types of cards, or other early 60s logo cards (Fleer issued some logo stickers in 1960-1962), so I can try and more appropriately repay John. I would greatly appreciate it and try and I also need a price guide for 1948 Leaf Boxing and 1951 Topps Ringside Boxing. I have been contacted by a VCT member, Alex Phillips about trading him some for pewar hockey. Seems like a nice guy. Has anyone dealt with him previously? I hope he will meet up with Ron Perry, Carlos Alcazar and myself at the Toronto show in November, since he lives in Ontario, Canada. Remember if it is oddball think of me. LOL. Although I think a few of us challenge for the titel of biggest oddball (collector).
