================= Date: Mon, 01 Sep 2008 17:47:49 -0000 To: uvlist@yahoogroups.com From: "uthminsta1" Subject: OBC Year Project update Hey everyone. I haven't posted an OBC Year Project update in the other servers for a few months now, but I wanted to do a quick one, to say that today, being the first of the month, is the date we start work on another year. And this month, it's 1990 (and 1971). For those unfamiliar, the OBC Year Project is a separate Yahoo group, also composed entirely of OBC members (a little less than half of the active membership so far), where we come together to add our wantlists from one vintage year and one UV year to a central, searchable database, and check out what we can send to each other. A good portion of the activity is focused on the "current year," but there is also quite a bit of stuff from the previous years that we still send to each other. And new lists are being added quite often, so it's really a great place to search a lot of lists at once. 1990 is the current UV year, but of course we still have plenty of opportunity for those who would like to post wantlists from 1971 through 1989! So if you haven't joined yet, please shoot me an email at uthminsta@hotmail.com and I will see that you get in. As soon as Bob Reed gets the databases running, we can upload our new wantlists. But until then, have a happy Labor Day, and how's about some stories? What do you remember about collecting in 1990, the heydey of overproduction? And how many of you were already collecting in 1971? Once again, check out the Project. We'd love it if you would add your lists and maybe search around a bit, to see if there's a few cards you can send out. Aaron PS - A vintage version of this post will be on the Ramblings server. So essentially if you've read one, you've read both. ================= Date: Mon, 1 Sep 2008 11:29:13 -0700 (PDT) To: OBC UV List From: Glenn Codere Subject: That man Stamper strikes again! Frank had sent me a number of cards for my wantlist - some great vintage hits. Today was my first real experience picking up some tough uv cards. Most of the cards he needs are those tough nigh numbers. I did not realize that those high numbers had found their way into the uv's. Listed below are the cards I picked up today. Can you update your list for those out there who might also be looking. Thanks TJ 10 35 78 430 441 477 478 489 492
