Trying to finish the 2000 and 2001 Bowman sets. These are the B&W cards like the 53s with 48B reprints included and the 54 -like Bowmans with autographs on front. Anybody collect these? Seems the 400 series of the B&Ws are REALLY tough! Anybody have a good way to buy them? E-bay or other website? Thanks, Howard the Griz ================= Date: Wed, 01 Jan 2003 15:35:10 -0000 To: uvlist@yahoogroups.com Subject: Out with the old... Never got around to inventorying it until today. So, of course, I now find that it's nowhere near a set. More like a half-set. It was severely cherry picked, and about 25% dupes. So, I'll be adding an '83 Fleer wants to my "UV" lists. Anybody working on that set - ALL POINTS BULLETIN! Get in touch, and maybe we can help each other! My first official act - in fact, the act that made me finally inventory this box - was to see if I had an extra Shane Rawley for Kevin. No dice. I have decided that my topps run will be composed of 1952-2002 regular and traded sets. so the final new set i am collecting is the 2002 traded (not chrome). i just purchased the T111-265 run on eBay, so i am now looking for the short prints only. i dont have anything to trade from this set, and very little new stuff has yet been organized except for topps ( i hope to get all the other sets straightened out soon - one of my new years resolutions). but if you would like to trade SPs for stuff from the 60s-80s, i have plenty! so please let me know. gary mandell p.s. also still looking for most of the 2002 topps #365 (bonds hr) variations. ================= Date: Fri, 03 Jan 2003 18:18:56 -0000 To: uvlist@yahoogroups.com Subject: cards for kids, memphis edition... It's not a priority, but if I could fill out the set, it'd be nicer than having 231 dupes lying around. Speaking of dupes, since I abandoned my 2001 UD Vintage and Fleer Tradition sets, I still have hundreds of cards to trade from those sets if anyone is interested. With this set, I got most of the star cards from the box so the rest should just be commons or minor stars. The biggest names from what I can tell (since I only have one CL) are guys like Chipper Jones, Bernie Williams, Adam Dunn, Tom Glavine, and Jim Edmonds. 2002 Fleer Triple Crown 5,8,9,12,22,37,39,42,53,54,58,61,70,81,84,97,104,116,118,123,129,159,160,165,1 77,178,181,185,189,195,201,212,227,239,248,252,256,258,266, CL 2. I ran into a great batch of '02 Topps Traded cards a few weeks ago and didn't even realize they were short prints until I heard it from a fellow trader. Anyway, I hadn't intended on putting the set together and had just picked 'em up as trade bait and it seems they are better than I thought! For a while, I've been agonizing about how to finish up my '02 Fleer Tradition set. It's a really special set for me because I started it around this time last year when I first went up to Minnesota to see my mom in the hospital. As most of you know, she didn't make it and passed away on 02/23. I'm really wanting to finish up that set by Feb. 23 of this year... kind of a symbolic closing of the book and time to move on. Thus, I would love to trade '02 Topps Traded for the '02 Fleer Tradition. I'm also listing some 2000-'01 Fleer Glossy basketball cards that are up for trade if anyone is building this set. I saw some packs at a price I couldn't refuse and did pretty well with 'em. I don't usually collect basketball, but I think I will keep the Jason Williams jersey card I pulled! The rest are available as listed below. What's next? Why inserts, of course... I'd like to collect all the "easy" inserts. Getting all the non-game used= or autos would be neat. If you aren't going to collect these or put them= on ebay, I'd love to take them off your hands. I don't know if I have an= y available to trade but I'd trade you REAL (i.e. vintage) cards in exchang= e. haha I'd love to accumulate these inserts so that I have some trade = bait available when I approach trading groups. Also.... I found a VARIATION in the set.... There are DIFFERENT CHECKLISTS for hobby and retail versions. From what I= see, the key difference is that there were different inserts in one type o= f box versus the other. Also, the background of one set is golden, the oth= er background is green. Anyone care about this? Haha. I'm putting a set= of each into my box. I have extras from each though not an extra set of t= hree. But came across a card that I need to ask about. I have a card of Bobby Cox from the 2002 Topps set #285. However, it's not the same as my regular 2002 Topps card. It doesn't say 2002 Topps at the top of the card, but rather 51 Years of Collecting and the card's border is a more gold shade and raised and it's serialized in gold on the back bottom 1300/2002. I guess this is some sort of parallel set? I don't have a book to tell me. Can someone enlighten me? Does anyone need this card? I'm happy with the regular issue. But if no one else needs it, could it substitute for the regular issue card in the set? I have a complete set that I finished years ago, but last year my father bought me a ton of odd '83 lots at various garage sales. I've been inventorying a second set out of them, still need 43 to finish. I also still have a ton of dupes. Here's what I need. Trade offers welcome, or even if you're just working on it and need some, let me know. I'm also working on various Fleer and Donruss sets from the '80's, so there's lots of room to barter!
