I too, have been "nailed," when I go to the counter, and ask the clerk to send it off, only to learn they want extra postage for a non-machine charge, but when I just stamp it myself and drop the lil' letter in the box, I've yet to hear of a complaint. Kinda like me; the Gemini syndrome??? Are we skating on thin ice, and should we soon expect the USPS to nail us every time? They are, after all, deep in debt and while many of us continueto send checks and pay bills via the USPS, many others of us send our letters via Email and pay our bills on line, instead of USPS. Thus, I am one, who fully expects, to soon see a buck a letter cost, and if I am able to continue to maintain my status among trading groups, I will not balk at a twodollar or more, per trade, cost. I'm just concerned that many of us will drop out, knowing it could cost two or three dollars or more, just to send away a card or three. I don't want to pay like that; but I DO want to stay in touch with colleagues. I also expect the USPS will very soon reduce their delivery daze to Monday thru Friday only; which, that alone, should not hurt out trading expectations, should it? Do we really need, Saturday delivery? Financial commerce does not need the USPS for physical delivery. Our economy can survive without it. However, as global card traders, our trading "commerce" cannot survive without a somewhat, fairly prompt, physical delivery system. My question to you, fellow traders, are we, as "package senders," willing to support our mail, delivery system??? I fully suspect, that a complete demise of our postal system is less than ten years away. Arewe prepared to pay for and send our trades via Fed X and UPS, only?
