So far, of all the inserts, I HAVE: GOLD # 52 134 329. 2K6 cards 7 to 11. Declaration of Independence: Gerry, Hancock, Heyward, & Hopkins. Hit Parade 8. Hobby Masters 9. iTunes 1 free Download A-Rod. Mantle HR1 6 22 67. Mantle MM2003. Own the Game 8 9. Trading Places Glaus. Wal-Mart 34, 46, and 52. Hey, I was going through some Topps cards from the late 80's and came across 1987 #99, Darryl Motley. The card has him in a Royals uniform, and has the Royals logo in the corner, but has the words "NOW WITH BRAVES" in the bottom left corner of the picture. I remember O-Pee-Chee doing this quite a bit with some of their sets, as I guess they were printed later than their Topps counterparts, so there was knowledge of more trades before they went to press... but I had forgotten that Topps had also done this. Question: is it possible to find a complete list of these "makeshift traded" cards in Topps base sets through the years? I'd like to pull any that show that the person was traded to the Braves, but I'd also like to see just how many there are out there. Here's what I've found so far: 1987 Topps 99 Darryl Motley Royals NOW WITH BRAVES 1989 Topps 115 Jody Davis Cubs NOW WITH BRAVES 1989 Topps 488 Kevin Coffman Braves NOW WITH CUBS Anyone have access to that information? Any help would be appreciated. The collection remains intact although it's been sometime since I've had an accurate list of both cards I have and cards that I need. In that spirit I'm working away to get that stuff organized so that at some point I will have a list for that again. In that same spirit though I've wanted for some time to get back into collecting another player from the current Blue Jays. The problem has been of course that there haven't really been too many favorites that have hung around long enough in the organization to establish themselves in any real way. I've decided to start collecting cards of one of the two players who meet this criteria, who also happens to be the longest serving Blue Jay remaining on the team. This player being Roy Halladay. The good news is that any more expensive cards for Roy aren't really that tough to find with the help of ebay. The bad news is that in reality the tougher cards to get a hold of happen to be the numerous base cards, smaller parallels and inserts which most people don't deem worth either listing or that would cost me more in ebay shipping fees than the cards themselves are worth. This is where you would come in. If you open up any boxes of newer product and happen to come across any Halladay dupes you don't need for your sets, etc I would be most appreciative if you would keep me in mind. I will do my best to return fire. Thanks for reading, ================= Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2006 19:05:58 -0000 To: uvlist@yahoogroups.com From: "uthminsta1" Subject: thanks and lots of availables EARL KILBOURN sends 40 hits to my 2006 Topps wantlist, including a rather odd Royals team card - without the team! Does anyone know why Topps or the Royals did this? It's just a picture of an empty Kauffman Stadium! It seems like a rather cruel joke / commentary on their 2005 First, is there anyone out there who collects Tim Hudson? I have a little something for you, whoever you are, if you send me your address. Second, I have gotten another 8,000 cards from the local dealer, to organize for him, and pull out anything I can use. That includes anything any of you can use, too, so tell me what you're looking for. About half of this lot is baseball, or 4,000 cards. No great stuff in here, and nothing really new. I've only had the chance to start through it, but I have pulled a stack of about 100 cards from 1981 Fleer. Anyone working on that set? There are about 2,000 football cards in all, and so far I've pulled the 1969-1991 Topps out and organized them. There are stacks of 1982, 1990, and 1991 Topps... The vintage cards will be detailed in an availables post over on the vintage server tonight hopefully, but as for the UV football, let me know what you're looking for and I will see what's there when I get them organized. There are over 1,000 basketball cards, and I have no idea what is worth anything, but again, let me know what you're looking for. HOCKEY, NASCAR, GOLF, SOCCER, NON-SPORT... all those together add up to about another thousand... Content-Language: en Finally, some additional information has been unearthed on the mysterious Alay Soler RC1 insert. The unannounced card was seeded into Topps II packsat the last minute and printed on a separate sheet. The 26-year old Cuban refugee made his major league debut for the New York Mets on May 24th. After two lackluster starts, Soler wowed Mets fans by tossing seven innings against the Dodgers on June 5th with one walk, seven strikeouts and only one earned run and followed that up with a two-hit shutout June 10th versus the Diamondbacks. Topps II baseball went live around June 16th, and the venerable Manhattan-based manufacturer managed to print and seed the mysterious Soler (checklisted on the card back as RC1) just in the nick of time prior to final out. What time didn=E2=99t allow, however, was for the Topps II wrappers to be delayed and edited to include information on the Soler card. Carrying a design identical to the standard cards (except for the omission of foil accents on front due to the limited amount of time allowed for production) and boldly emblazoned with the MLBPA=E2=99s Rookie Card logo, but checklisted outside of the standard 660-card set and seeded into packs at an unknown rate, early consumers were baffled when they pulled the Soler RC1 insert out After the first few copies posted on eBay were scooped up for Buy it Now prices under $10, collectors quickly caught on that the Soler RC1 insert was heck of a tough pull. Stories from dealers breaking multiple cases at a time started getting tossed around that the Soler was tougher than a one per case find. Even after Topps II boxes had been trading on the secondary market for a few weeks, only a handful of copies of the Soler insert were seen on eBay . . . and bidding had quickly ascended to the $75-$150 range. Consumers and dealers alike openly questioned if the Soler was perhaps as tough to find as the infamous series one Alex Gordon (Full) card that was never intended for public release. Yet, still Topps remained quiet about releasing any details on the mysterious Soler card. Unfortunately for the Mets, Soler has been hit hard since his shutout against the D-Backs, giving up 16 earned runs in his last 7 innings pitched. As of July 17th, Soler=E2=99s win-loss record stands at an unimpressive 2-3, with an ERA of 6.00. Despite Soler=E2=99s struggles and a lack of solid information on the card=E2=99s scarcity, the RC1 insert has been a consistent seller on eBay in the $90-$110 range over the past few weeks. After almost exactly one month since the release of Topps II baseball, representatives at Topps have officially announced that the Soler RC1 insert seeded into all types of Topps II packs (blaster-box minis, hobby, HTA, rack and retail) at a uniform rate of 1:7,578. No further information in regards to the actual number of copies issued was provided by Topps. Based upon our own internal research coupled with the newly announced odds per pack, however, the Beckett Baseball Monthly PriceGuide staff estimates between 800-850 copies of the Soler RC1 insert were issued. ================= Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2006 03:18:30 -0000 To: uvlist@yahoogroups.com From: "kevin71058" Subject: 2006 Ultra needs Hi all, Here is my 2006 Ultra wantlists Any help would be appreciated 2006 Ultra: New set as of 7/12/06 Happy Trading, Kevin Martens ================= Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2006 12:27:52 -0000 To: uvlist@yahoogroups.com From: "kevin71058" Subject: Mark sends some neat Mets cards Hi all, Mark Holland hits my Mets wish list with some out of the main stream Mark sends Mets from Kaybee Toys, Fleer Hottest Stars, Post, Mickey Ds,Post, Fun Pack and Bazooka, with some main stream sets as well.
