I need to check, but it looks like Mark finished those off as well. 3 sets removed in 2 days and 1 more to finish another. Great work gents! Hope you're all set for Christmas. I'm excited to soon be opening my very first OBC Santa package. I joined the group in time to see all the excitement and "cardboard commotion" that Santa stirred up last time, and I really hope the gift I sent out will be exciting to the recipient. Anyway, the reason I'm posting is that I just added a BUNCH (33 to be exact) of wantlists to my UV page. I got a wild hair last night, and I had some free time, so I spent a few hours pounding out lists. Almost all of them were vintage themed. Check it out: 1987 Leaf Special Olympics 1993 O-Pee-Chee (the first of many OPC sets that I will be adding in 1998 and 1999 Upper Deck Retro 1999 Upper Deck Century Legends 2000-2002 Fleer Greats of the Game 2000-2001 Upper Deck Legends 2001 Fleer Red Sox 100th Year 2001-2004 SP Legendary Cuts 2001 Upper Deck Decade 70's 2001 Upper Deck Hall of Famers 2001 Upper Deck Legends of New York 2001-2004 Upper Deck Vintage 2002-2003 Fleer Fall Classic 2002 and 2004 Sweet Spot Classic 2002 Upper Deck Piece of History 2002 Upper Deck World Series Heroes (actually just updated this one) 2003 Donruss Team Heroes 2003 Upper Deck PlayBall 2003 Upper Deck Yankees Signature Series 2005 Upper Deck All-Star Classics 2005 Upper Deck Classics and last but not least... 2006 Topps Updates and Highlights. Speaking of which, though it may not look like it from the list above, I'm still primarily a Topps collector. Adding all of these at once was basically getting all the non-Topps stuff that I'd like to work on, onto my wantlist, all at once, and kinda getting that "work" behind me... you know? But hey, these are some pretty cool sets, because a bunch of them show the good old Braves, guys like Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews and Warren Spahn, and there was even one Rabbit Maranville. And now they will all be a part of my Braves collection, instead of just being in a box labeled "not on wantlist." It's kinda slow work putting together actual vintage-era Boston Braves cards, so these kind of sets are a next-best-thing... And, you know, if you're gonna collect UV stuff, at least it's vintage themed, right? So anyway, I'm not putting these here to be begging for hits. Absolutely no one owes me anything, anyway! I actually owe a bunch of you, so maybe sometime after the start of the year, I can get a few hit-backs out in the mail.... But I just know that I like to be made aware when someone does a major overhaul on their wantlist, so that I can at least check it out. Again, have a great Christmas, and here's to a happy new year. Dear Fellow OBCers, I hope everyone is experiencing the joy and spirit of the holiday season. This being an even year, our children are with their respective in-laws tonight and I am enjoing a quiet evening with the wife, as well as my loyal cannine companion, Kalie Mae and 2 of her pups. Tomorrow we will have dinner at my youngest daughters house and enjoy the sights and sounds of the grandkids playing with new toys and or the boxes they came As is alluded to by the above subject line, I have decided to initiate my long anticipated, by me at least, quest to collect as many Tiger team UV sets as possible. "Why now EEK", I hear you ask, "it's Christmas Eve, were having some Christmas cheer, wrapping gifts, visiting with family and friends." Why now? Geno, that's why. A few minutes ago, Geno sends me an e-mail inquiring if I collect UV Tigers. I do in fact have quite a variety of cards from many different UV sets. I have long wanted to post some UV Tiger lists, but given the vast array of cards out there, I can't decide on a specific plan of attack. It is impractical to try to list all UV Tigers out there at one time. So I plan to post some lists and as I complete team sets I will add more. My indecisivness is do I post chronologicaly or alphabetically. Do I start with 1980 and come forward or start with present and work back. On the other hand, do I sart with Ace Novelty and work toward Zenith or the reverse? I now put my delimma in the capable hands of OBC collective wisdom. 3=BD hours more and I can tear into my Secret Santa envelope! Merry Christmas to all & to all a Good Night!
