From: Mark S Talbot Hello All, Well a good deal of the 2002 Topps cards that I was expecting came in over the past few days and some additional UV gems. KUDOS TO: Robert Pigeon who smashes the 2002 Baseball list with (47) hits to the old want list. Rex Stahlman who contributes (11) to the list including some of those elusive insert cards. Jim Wiehe who sends two packages this week, the first had a bunch of `93 Topps gold cards - that should be a challenge nearly 10 years after the fact. Jim also included (10) 2001 Topps Heritage card - I have never seen these before and I can see there OBC appeal as they are mirrored after the `52 Topps set. The second package from Jim featured (25) cards from the `54 Archive set that are the "gold" variety with Willie Mays and Jackie Robinson leading the way. EEK handed a few of these to me during a recent meeting and Steve said he was going to send me some and now Jim who's been talking to Steve surprises me with this stack. Neal Thomas recently promised a few 2002 TOPPS so the want list is whittled down considerably. I need only 10 more regular issue cards: Mark Talbot's Want List 2002 Topps Baseball Series 1 7, 119, 156, 160, 204, 216, 224, 275, 336 and 351.. Own the Game Subset I have #5 - Bonds, #6 - Thome, #7 - Rollins, #20 - Clemens, #21 - Schilling, #25 - Shaw and #27 - East Meets West I have EW-SH 1952 World Series Highlights I have 52WS-1 and 52WS-5 So thanks to those gentlemen who have contributed to my very first UV effort in over a decade. As I mentioned to Steve I think I will attempt to amass the gold numbered set of these as well so if anyone wants to contribute to that effort feel free. I will take all cards at this time for I only have a handful of them now. I intend on listing other UV sets that I will be working on shortly so thanks in advance for your encouragement in this "new" endeavor. BE WELL!!! Sure enough, here is what I discovered I'm missing, any hits would be greatly appreciated. 1981 # 760 - 779 & 827 1982 # 15T-43T-45T-62T-112T & 121T 1983 # 5T-38T & 63T 1985 # 91T & 119T 1986 # 17T-26T-27T-53T-59T & 61T It's good to look through the ol' binders from time to time for holes. I found, or should say, I didn't find the following Tigers from the 95T set # 492 - 519 & 576. A little help! Does this mean I need to figure out who the "Traded Red Sox" were? I don't even have most of the traded sets so its going to be a difficult quest. ----- Original Message ----- From: Originaleek@webtv.net To: uvlist@yahoogroups.com Sent: Monday, January 28, 2002 9:04 PM Subject: [uvlist] Traded Tigers Hey all you UVers, Neal Thomas recently sent me some Topps Traded Tigers which prompted me to peruse my checklists for other Traded cards. I ran into the same wall as you. My current effort is on a big web page thing with each person's list broke down with a master index pointing to the list. not as neat as a search by number. The onlky other way I am thiniking of is to list each card by year, set, number and member who wants it. Something like 70t177-alc. PUt every entry in a big list and sort it that way. I might be able to help and will keep trying to work on ideas. I have Access 97 at home and 2K at work. I loved opening these packs and pulling a Mays or Clemente. Anyway, I am wondering who else is working on the regular set and the goldparallel set. I know Mark Talbot is but don't know about anyone else. I have some I want to trade to people outside OBC but if someone in the group needs 'em, I can send them your way. One related note -- seems like I have dinged the corner on an extra 1954 Archive Gold #90 Mays. Any advice for repairing it? I can trade one away to someone outside the group but if I do, I'd keep the dinged one and send off the mint one. ================= To: "Uvlist" Subject: Re: [uvlist] 1954 Archive Gold Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2002 22:12:41 -0500 From: "Steve Rittenberg" I am working on some trades outside of OBC as well.
