Thanks Ken Pillion sent an envelope that contained a note that said "hope this helps" and an empty penny sleeve. After further examination I noticed a smallslit on the side of the envelope. I believe the envelope at one time contained a 1971 coin that I requested but apparently there's a postal worker somewhere between Kentucky and Connecticut that needed it more. From: uthminsta@hotmail.com ================= To: "dugouttraders@yahoogroups.com" , Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2015 22:38:37 -0400 Subject: Thanks to Richard Labs From: Taylor Schock I met up with Richard at the Raleigh show on Sunday and he handed me well over a dozen hits to my '56-'58 Topps FB want lists. I'm out of town right now, so I can expound further on what he provided, just that they were greatand much appreciated. Thanks Richard. Better than the cards were the couple of hours we were able to spend at theshow. I had gone the previous day, found some goodies and missed some others (you don't want to hear about the $3 '66 high number SPs of Jackson, McClain, and others) but I was able to pick up some $2-$3 '52 Topps and a stack of 15 '39 Playballs for $2 each. So I did all my shopping on Saturday butenjoyed Sunday even more. While Richard spent probably an hour (if not more) buying almost all the cards Kurt had, I started bird-dogging Chandy's table for Richard and was able to get him a few cards from his list before they disappeared (some '66 high numbers for $2 each and a '62 Rookie Parade McDowell for $6). I probablyshouldn't mention the '56 Topps Koufax, Williams, Mays, and few others for$20 each, let alone the Mantle that Kurt told me someone snatched earlier.Oh All in all, an enjoyable couple of days. ================= Date: Wed, 24 Jun 2015 13:11:54 +0000 (UTC) To: OBC Thanks Subject: Gurued From: EEK Larry Tipton sent an as yet unidentified T card (I haven't had time to look it up yet) ofDetroit Tiger Moriarty. JOEL FREEDMAN - Joel sends a flat of UV and gains the label of "Set Killer"on a UV Hockey set!! In a story that only OBC folk would understand - As I was walking out of the post office today I spotted what looked like a baseball card near my tire. Upon closer look at see its a 2015 Topps Hunter Pence. Back in the 80's and 90's, it wasnt too unheard of to find cards at the bus stop or on thesidewalk since we all collected. I feel like these days its rare. As acollector of beaters and overall lover of cards, I figured why not take a walk around the lot and see what else I find. While most people thought I was a huge wierdo, I was very happy to leave with a total of 7 "Tipton Mint" 2015 Topps cards. Its rare to add modern players to my beater collection, so I am happy to welcome Jackie Bradley Jr., Jason Vargas, Andrew Heaney, Carlos Gomez, Jeff Baker, Hunter Pence, and Paul Goldschmidt to the beater box/Rotisserie League. These are my 1st 2015 Topps cards as well! I washoping to find 5 more since I believe the packs are 12 cards, but this wasall that was there...
