I saw the OBCAC statement about not sending thanks to non-OBCers. I hope prospective OBCers are the exception. If not, I apologize. I just posted my plug for Nick Pelletier, but I wanted to say it here, too. This is exactly why I chose not to go inactive: I love getting to help guys who should be in OBC join OBC. (Plus, I want to stay connected to you guys.) Nick contacted me and showed great perseverance in pulling off a trade with me way down here! He sent me 20 1966 Topps--first--by way of my sister-in-law who just flew down for a visit. Included were two unmarked checklists, Orioles rookies, Donn Clendenon, and Don "Ears and Eyebrows" Mossi. They're all in great OBC shape (some nicer, some creasers), and will put a serious dent in that wantlist. Nick and I have been emailing back and forth a fair amount, and he strikes me as a great OBC candidate. He really loves the cards, he's generous, and he's looking to improve other card-lovers' collections. Plus, he's hoping to get to know guys and make friends with fellow collectors. Please go to the New Applicant page, read over his application, get a laugh (not everyone says this about dupes), and say a good word for him. One of the things I've really missed here so far is working on my collection, being in touch with my trading buddies, and those surprise packages in the mailbox. It was fun to get a puffy again! We don't even try to receive mail down here--it's too unreliable and even when it gets through, it takes a long time--but we're getting enough visitors that I can get the important mail (i.e. cards) carried down eventually. I don't get to handle my return fire, but it's one good use for Blessings on all of you, Friends! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers down here and drop me a line sometime. Joel sent me a very nice 1960 Fleer Baseball Greats which gave me enough cards to go from a HAVElist to a WANT list. Love it when that happens. Thanks for the swell card, Today I opened an envelope from Mac Wubben. The Maxster DOUBLES my 1972 OPC collection with 6 fine cards. Thanks a bunch, Mac. Inbounds today from Mike Mroz. 63 Post Steve Boros, and a slot filler for the 53 Topps, Cloyd Boyer, said card having a very unusual trim job...somebody must have had strenuous objections to any white border on the card. Thanks, Mike, much appreciated!
