Lynn Miller sent a RAOK package with 16 really nice 1960T cards with a notesaying
"a few hits for that new set". The catch is that set wasn't even listed....yet.
I guess that Lynn wanted to make sure that I started the 60T
set soon so he sent this starter lot. Hey if anybody wants me to start some
of those T sets that you talk about I could be "forced" to list one ofthose
too. :) What a GREAT club we have.

Thanks Lynn! I'll post the set today, minus the starter lot that you sent.

And finally a big thanks to Mark Talbot who sent me an envelope with a niceletter

they were not in the envelope when I received it! I knew something was
unusual when I received the envelope with lots of postage on it and the envelope

a little disappointment that the cards were gone but that is way, way outweighed
by my appreciation for Mark in sending them in the first place. It's

over the last two months or so, I have had a new home healthcare lady.
For some odd reason, she does not understand the OBC rules. Laying
in bed 24 hours a day, I do plenty of sleeping. During that time, my
home help lady goes to the mailbox and I wake up to a pile of cards
with no envelope. I do not know if she thought that I had bought them
through eBay, but I have had to tell her four times to save the
envelopes so that I can know who to thank for the shipments. by the
time I would wake up, she would already have the trash taken out. She
still went about it or her way and would not save the envelopes.
After a semi-stern talking with her I believe that she now has the
idea. I sincerely apologize to all of those that I did not write a
thank you note to. I always make it a point to show my gratitude
towards those who were kind enough to send me cards, but this woman
simply did not understand the importance of saving the envelopes. It
will not happen any more after the talk I had with her. To those of
you that have sent me cards by which you did not receive a thank you,
please send me a private e-mail and I will make things right by
posting thank you letters. I almost feel ashamed, although it was not
my fault. My e-mail address is ryandistelrath@Gmail.com. I apologize
once again to all of those who did not get a thank you from me.
Please e-mail me if you are one of those people. This is the only way
that I figure that I can make things the way that they ought to be.
Thank you for understanding.

Due to being out of town the last 10 days or so, I had a a small pile of cards laying on my desk including one mystery package.

Opened and laying for me I want to say thatns to whomever sent me the 25-30 card pack of Cleveland Indians cards that included a pair from 1972, 4 from 1976, a 1964 and 1963 card. Also a bunch of post 80's were included.

From Ray Luurs through the OBC auction the 30 1973 football cards that were in much better shape then advertised, as I will be posting a list for that set later this week.

The Levine train of mailings also included a stop over here, with a SCP of a 1962 Cleveland Indian

Mark Talbot sent over 10 more additions to the newly started 73-74 basketball set

Ed Schott hits more lists with a fine flat filled with Cleveland Indians and cards for the newly posted 1960 baseball set.

From across the pond Glenn Codere invites me to enjoy the 60's with a dozen hits from that same 1960 set.

Also to Brian Betza for his flat of 3 needed cards from the 1960 set.

Thanks to everyone, and I will be going through a bunch of lists, as I picked up a couple of thousand cards from the 70's while I was in Cleveland from a shop near where the National will be. I talked with the owner of the store, and he is willing to save us a few boxes of cards for anyone coming in for the show. I will post his information on the Nat'l server later on this week.

My friends,

With a few lucky plays in the fourth quarter, I found myself one of the winners
of this year=92s Super Bowl pool. Thanks again to Sean McGowan for going
to all the trouble of setting it up so that we could have a little fun. I
have not yet had a chance to mail the cards I have for the other three winners
of this year=92s pool, but my winnings have already started to pile up.
Thanks go out to:

Mike Rich, who sends me two 1964 coins (coins always make for good booty) as
well as my recent charity auction winnings -- a lot of 73-74 OPC hockey that
will soon be sorted and added to the old wantlist! Thanks Mike!

Geno Wagner has hit me with a couple of flats over the last month. The first
brought a 1968 Topps upgrade of Jim Lonborg, and the second flat contained
Super Bowl winnings in the form of a 1972 Milton Bradley card of Gary Nolan
-- only the third one I have from that year! Thanks for thinking of me Geno!

T.J. Valacak has been a regular to my mailbox this past month, visiting on three
separate occasions! The first visit was a little return fire from a flat
I sent him, as he sent two 1975 Hostess Twinkies cards! The second flatcontained
a charity auction winning in the form of a 1936 Goudey Bucky Harris
card (with some OPC hockey thrown in for the ride)! The last flat of SBwinning
brought even more vintage OPC hockey, bringing the total of hits from
T.J. for the 71-72 set to a lucky seven! Thanks for all the great cardboard!

John Stamper sends a hit to a set that has been so rarely hit, I had to look
it up to see what was in the envelope -- a 1949 MP and Comp. card of Eddie
Joost! I could not remember which set had the numbers on the back and which
one didn=92t! A true SCP John -- thanks for the card!

Mike Mroz sends along some SB winnings from the ice -- nine vintage hits including
three to a rapidly shrinking 1973-74 Topps list, including the great
Phil Esposito! Great hits Mike -- thanks!

Earl Kilbourn -- EEK -- sends along fifty hits (way over-doing SB winnings, but
I wont complain too loudly! Of the fifty cards, only one can be mentioned
here by name (a 1975 Topps mini) but the other forty nine hits to four different
lists are also greatly appreciated! Thanks EEK!

Steve Hitzeman sends along one of the few football hits I received for winning
a football pool -- a 1956 Topps Norm Willey, who appears on the card tobe
getting ready for his Superman impersonation as he takes to the air (heis
an Eagle, so its appropriate)! Thanks for the hit Steve!

Josh Levine sends a 1971 OPC hit to bring that set one step closer to completion,
and he adds a 1977 Seattle Mariners team card that includes personalfavorite
Vada Pinson! Thanks for the DCP Josh!

Rick Lyons sends twenty nine 1980 football hits, including names like Guy, Fouts,
Ham and two Grays (Leon and Earnest). Its always good to get cardboard
of long-lost family members! Thanks for the hits Rick!

Bob Donaldson sent me some great vintage hockey hits the first week of January,
cutting my 69-70 Topps list down to an even twenty with four hits, including
the checklist! He also sent the checklist from the 70-71 set, bringing
that list down to just five more [22 (Mahovlich), 29 (Howe), 52, 59 (Horton),
78 (Parent)]. Thanks for the big hits Bob!

Glenn Codere continues the run of vintage hockey into my mailbox as he ships
seven OPCs from the early 70s across the pond! Great cards Glenn -- thanks
for the help!

Bill Malson kindly sends four 1972 Kellogg=92s cards (but where is the cereal?)
to help knock some holes into that list -- thanks for the cards Bill!

John Harrell started the year off with a great SCP that caught me totally by
surprise -- a 1934 Batter-Up of Phillies outfielder Ethan Allen (any relation
to the furniture company?) I love hits to these pre-war sets -- thanksfor
thinking of me Bama!

Larry Gersbach hits me with a three-pack of treats -- a 61 Post Frank Malzone,
a 75 Hostess Willie McCovey, and a 77 Hostess of the Bird, Mark Fidrych!
Three times the fun Larry -- thanks!

Thanks again all around for the great cardboard!

Subject: More Recent Thanks Due To....

My friends,
The last few weeks have been busy here in central Michigan, as my wife and I
have been working on a play put on by the local theatre troop. The play was
a mystery dinner theatre that we put on this weekend. I played Zelda Lavish
(yes, that a female name and yes, I was in a dress and full make-up). We
had a blast, but I am glad that its over! Now I have time to catch up on some
over-due thanks=85.

Brian Betza sends some nice football hits my way, hitting four vintage hitswith
seven cards, ranging from 1959 to 1980! Great stuff Brain -- thanks!

Double-A, Anthony Arbeeny, sends thirty three big hits for a recently created
uv set! With big names throughout, these are greatly appreciated! He follows
that up with a flat containing more nice cardboard, with four 1970 OPCs
(including Billy Williams and an RBI Leaders card with Killebrew and Jackson)
and a 1954 Bowman Carl Scheib variation! Great cards AA -- thanks for thinking
of me!

Thunder Dan Austin sends me a great SCP in the form of a 1962 Topps high number
from the Rookie Parade -- featuring Joe Pepitone! What an amazing hit Dan
-- thanks!

Peter Mead sends a nice TCP with a 52 Bowman of Senators manager Bucky Harris
(that must have been a plum job), and two 72 Kellogg=92s Greats (Lefty Grove
and Walter Johnson)! Great hits Peter!

Neal Thomas takes me to Canada with a pack of six OPCs (three each from 70 and
71)! Thanks for the hits Neal!

Mark Talbot sends along two packages my way -- the first including several uv
cards for my wife as well as two 1959 Topps back variations for me, and the
second including more cards of Jo's favorite player and six 1969 Milton
Bradleys for me (including Peter Rose)! Great stuff -- both times! ThanksMark!

Bob D=92Angelo always seems to be sending cardboard around the world, and he
made three visits to my door in the last month. The first two flats were very
nice game-used insert cards of my wife's favorite player (she loved them
both), and the third brought something for me (only two 1962 Topps high numbers
-- some guy named McCovey and a Rookie Parade card as well -- putting
me SERIOUSLY in Bob=92s debt)! Thanks for these flats and for all the great
cardboard over the years!

Thanks again for the great cardboard all around=85.

Be happy,

John Scott Gray

A large thanks to Dan Austin for the stuffed puffy filled with 1976 OPCs.  Must have been 35 of them or so--including a Ty Cobb and Seaver record breaker.
Also finished my first set of the year--by picking up a lot of 1961 Bell Brand Dodgers off of evilbay--a five card lot for small money that included the last three cards I needed.
I doubt I will ever chase the 58 Bell Brand set so I am down to four 1960s.

I got home from babysitting my granddaughter about 5:00 yesterday afternoon and stopped at the mailbox before driving into the garage. I had been waiting for this card ever since the end of the auction and was a little concerned that it had not arrived as of the end of last week. Anyway, I opened the mailbox to see a big pile of mail. Sitting on top was a small envelope that was absolutely soaked - I mean it looked like it had been underwater for quite some time. That may sound like an exaggeration, but it is not. Brock's return address was nearly washed off the corner of the envelope. Happily, Brock had the card snuggly encased inside the envelope and it was not damaged; but that had to be one of the most damaged deliveries I have ever received. My guess is that it either fell out of the mailbox and into the snow at some time over the past couple of weeks or that the post office delivered it somewhere else and it ended up in the snow. We are in a thaw right now, and maybe it just appeared from beneath the wet stuff. Much appreciated, Brock. It was obviously a struggle, but the card has safely arrived. John Stamper highlights the trip to the mailbox with a 1952 gem of Eddie Yost!
The back of the card says that he hit a home run in every American League
park in 1951, although his stats show only 12 dingers- I guess youcould
say he spread them around a bit. Yost later became the first player
to appear for the Los Angeles Angels, as the leadoff hitter in 1961. He
ended up coaching forever, as I remember him on a Mets coaches card and seeing
him at Fenway as a Red Sox coach after that. Thanks for the greathit,

Take Care,

BRIAN LINDHOLME, shooting me eight 1963s. I think these are my

First some long overdue thanks.

First I want to thank Rob Gioia for showing Adam and I around NYC. I had a great

thank you Rob! Just too many other things going on. It's been bugging methat
I hadn't thanked you.

I am going to list the names of those who have sent me cards during my downtime,
and a few notes-

Lynn hit my want list on4 separate occassions!!! Thanks Lynn.
Rich Niessen tried to single handedly wipe out my '76 wantlist! WOW! Thank you!
John Leroux I think killed my 80 list. I need to double check. Thank you!
Ed Schott tried to make up for the well loved 65's that I sent him some time
ago, by including some 68's that you couldn't tell who they were! But they
filled holes in my binder, and that's what it's all about! Thanks for the68's
and the SCP from 54.

Other who remembered me during my absence- Aaron Shirley, Richard Labs, Mike
Mroz, JSG, Bob D'Angelo, John Stamper, Bob Corvello,Richard Dingman, Greg
Conway, Bill Malson, Bill Ashton, Mike, and Bama! Thank you all! I willreturn

Subject: A great day at the mailbox!!!!! (A bit of a thank you ramble)

What a superb day way to start a Monday. I got into the office, fired up the
computer, brew some coffee (most important), then drifted along to the mailroom
to see what lay in store for me. The good news was that there was absolutely
nothing work related. The even better news was that there were 5 envelopes
of cards in my dookit - some of them bulging at the seams!!

So let's get this summary underway with a pair of thank you's.

First off, it's a call out to John Leroux. John hits Glasgow with a terrific
threesome including a '66 semihi Cubs Rookies, a '62 semihi Floyd Robinson,
and to top it off a 1965 Harmon Killebrew. I guess I can take that '65 Killer
off my ebay saved searches list!!

Next up, we honor Dan Angland, who sends along 5 Ty Cobb cards from the "Baseball
Greatest Player" set (UV, I know....you'll just have to forgive me on
this one occasion). Dan had a few Tigers cards, and asked me if I knew anyone
who could use them. After cherry-picking what I needed, I asked him tosplit
the rest among the FOOT guys. It's nice to have forst dibs on something!!

Well, that's the OBC thank yous out of the way. The other 3 packages were ebay
wins and stuff from dealers. First up was a 1962 #315 "Ford Tosses A Curve".
The next 2 puffies were sent to me by full-time OBCer, part-time "Glenn's
Middleman" Bill Ashton. Bill had gathered so much stuff for me that hehad
to split it into a pair of packages!! Lots of goodies were contained within:
A 1922 Exhibit of Howard Ehmke, 13 J P McCarthy Tigers postcards (Willie
Horton (x2), Bill Freehan (x2), Kaline, Kell, Cash, Dobson, McLain, Lau,
Lary, Littlefield, Hiller), a 1950B Vic Wertz, a 1940PB Dizzy Trout, a '52B
Bobby Thomson, a '63 Hank Aaron,9 1965s (incl Brooks, Yaz, Gibson, MaysLL),
9 1966s (incl 4 hi#s), 7 1967s (incl Durocher and 1 hi#), a 1969 Dalrymple
variation, 55 1969/70 Topps Hockey, a 1966/67 Gordie Howe AS, and dozens
of UV Red Wings.

If you've made it this far, maybe you could help me with a little dilemma. Also
inlcuded in the big envelopes fromBill were a bunch of 1961 Fleer BaseballGreats
that I picked up from a dealer (sma360) - a start to a newset.
Unfortunately, they screwed things up a bit. rather than sending me the
45 cards I ordered from that set, they only sent me 25 and a further 20 from
the 1963 Fleer set (another set which I'm not currently working on). So
here's the question. Do I contact the seller and try to retrieve the missing
1961s in exchange for the wrongly sent 1963s (I'm honest that way!), ordo
I simply accept what I have and go for both sets? You're input/advicewould
be most welcome!

So, to round off, thanks to John Leroux, Dan Angland, and Bill Ashton for helping
to boost my modest collection even further!

A couple of overdue thanks are in order. It's not often you get two Bill Tuttles
in the mail but Brian Betza made that happen with a 59/60 pair included
in a variety pack. Brian added a 64 Skinner as a Red (his autograph is on
the wall behind me), and a couple of young someday managers, a 63 Fregosiand
a 67 Torre.

Thanks to Brian Lindholme for chipping away at Suzanne's birthyear set by sending
a nice fourpack of 63's. Suz says she likes the Bobby Wine card, I say
she just likes wine.

John LeRoux stuffs the mailbox with a variety of early 60's. The horizontals
feature team cards of the Athletics and Reds but the woodies win the prize.
Kaline, Richardson, Ruth Special, Downing rookie, and a personal favorite
Earl Robinson.

Thanks guys for the really great cardboard.

Hello All,

It was a very unusual day today; nothing at the mailbox
for me but bills. Fortunately the past few days have not been so
gloomy as the hits keep pouring in; this time around it=E2=99s time to

Dan Angland who sends along a =E2=9Cgrab bag=E2=9D of fun stuff that is
an =E2=9Coddb all =E2=9D collectors dream. Tucked inside a rather
large puffy Dan sends (78) assorted Non-Sport items that are just plain
old fun (think Fitak-Pak and you catch my drift), (8) assorted NL mini pennants
that were one time pinned to some Little Leaguers bulletin board, (2)
mini helmets (Yanks & Mets) used for ice cream I think, an Islanders program,
a couple brochures on Cooperstown NY, a Star Trek patch, a baseb allbook
featuring Tommy Holmes and a Footb all leaflet with Roger Staubach onthe
cover. Now if that weren=E2=99t enough Dan sends a second puffy
with (27) more assorted Non-Sports issues like Planet of the Apes, StarWars
and Jaws =E2=93 That=E2=99s all I can say is WOW!!! Thanks
Dan, I=E2=99ll be getting something off to you soon.

Mark Holland sends me to the =E2=9Chead of the pack=E2=9D and ships off
a 900 count box of Non-Sports items that he wanted to get rid of. I=E2=99m
not quite sure what I will do with a lot of this stuff as I don=E2=99t
collect too many of these items but I am thinking about adding a
few of these to my want list. That=E2=99s why I requested the lot,
but many of you Non-Sport collectors will be getting some of this stuff.
 Thanks Mark!!!

John Leroux connects with a `52 Bowman Sm all Footb all card of Don Paul ofthe
Chicago Cardinals. Sent with this single FB card were a number of
other items that will be mentioned elsewhere, still appreciated John =E2=93

Padre Pat Wattigny clobbers the want list with a SCP from the `55 Bowman set
=E2=93 none other than the =E2=9Creal=E2=9D HR king Henry Aaron leaving
only a trio left for completion (Berra, Banks & Barlick). Thanks
for letting me pick your pocket with this one Padre, the set now is within
reach thanks to your generosity. Keep those eyes peeled to findappropriate

Fin all y Jeff Whitworth sends me some shiny stuff but I think I can mention
that =E2=9CThe Mick=E2=9D is pictured on one of these cards. It=E2=99s
Jeff=E2=99s first appearance at my Sterling Heights mailbox
and I will disclose more about it on the other server.

So another week in card collecting and I am putting the final touches on another
mass mailing so those of you who have been so generous of late =E2=93
keep your eyes on the mailbox for a return from SE Michigan . BEWELL!!!

Thanks to DON RICE for allowing me to claim a card from his latest

collection. I can remember back in 1986, the White Sox acquired
George Foster. I thought it was a great addition, since he had
blasted over 50 homers a few years before. I think he wallopped one
bomb for the White Sox and that was it for George. Don, I gladly
welcome George into the binder. Thanks.

JOHN STORMAN sends over an SCP as well. A 56 Scooter Rizzuto. What
a great hit. That takes that set down to eight cards needed for
completion. I have to give John credit for getting me started on
this set. He sent me a 56 Banks a few years ago. At that time, I
was only collecting Red Sox and White Sox cards from 56. After
receiving the Banks, I think it took me about 12 seconds to decide to
collect the set. John, thanks for the hit!

poke your eye out with. These are great cards, looking like a deck of playing
cards, they are that rounded. 11 from 1964, a 1962, a 62 Post, a dozen
61's with Zimmer, Fairly, Covington, a pair of teams and AL ERA LL. Another
8 from1961 Post with Minnie, Covington, Stuart and Burgess, a single 1965
Embossed and half a deck of 1960's. I love these cards. These are so well
loved that looking at them makes me smile and wonder what the story is behind
them all!

With the cards that came in today I have passed the 10,000 count for the 1951-1977
Run. I actually stop the count at 1977 since this was the last yearthat
I collected as a kid, so these are my vintage years.

Thank you all for the help to get to this point and I am looking forward tobeing
where Gary is, 11 away!

Ed Schott offered some cards and warned me that they were in really bad condition.
We exchanged a few emails joking about needing to take care whenopening
so that the cards wouldn't crumble. I thought we were joking but Ed
was right. He has given me an education on what truly Tipton cards are. These
must be Tipton minus. He sent me 9 1963T cards for my "any condition
But you know what, they still look better than holes in the sheets.
Thanks for the help Ed, I will never doubt your warning again.

The cups that Brian sent feature my HOM=E2=99er Stormin` Norman Cash
and one of my Fav=E2=99s Carl Yastrzemski. Thanks so much forthe
surprise Brian =E2=93 much appreciated!!!

Don Rice also follows the lead of the others with a surprise package of hisown.
The headliners would have to be a couple of C all ahan HOF cards
featuring Jimmie Foxx and George Wright. Don also included an OPCHockey
Storybook of Bobby Clarke, (20) `66 Philly Green Berets cards, a couple
Green Hornet cards, a Rat Patrol card, a =E2=9Cbig=E2=9D Valentine
Greetings card and a couple of minor league skeds. What a cool group of stuff
Don =E2=93 Thanks!!!

Fin all y, Bob Saxton ships off a waiver wire claim my way in the form of a`95

some hockey issues but it=E2=99s not as complete as I would like (the
mid `80=E2=99s Kraft issue is not listed so it=E2=99s not perfect).
Nonetheless, I know it will come in handy until I can find a guide

I had expected to hit the Post Office today but mymass

in this weather. Hope all are enjoying a peaceful weekend =E2=93

Brain Betza included me in his recent mailings. He sent along 5
Slurpee Football cups. These are to rarely hit sets. The scp (single
cup pleasure) for the 1972 set was of Kupp, rather approrpiate you must
admit. This brings me to within 15 of that set. Then Brian included 4
for the 1973 set. That gives me 20 of the set of 80, so I went from
having 1/5 to 1/4. The Slurpee cups I find are similar to the RC Cola
cans in that I have almost all of the BB, still need lots of football
and have hardly any basketball. I tend to try and pick the FB 7 BSKB
for $1 a can or cup when I can. Only problem is dealers usually want
$5 ea. for individual commons. Group lots yield better results. A
couple months ago, I bought a box of 70 RC Cola cans, mainly FB, with
about 1/3 BB, for only $18, less than $.25 a can. I wish I could find
Slurpee cups like that, as these were the first hits in a few years
probably. Thanks Brian!

Hi gang,

Tuesday thanks go to Dan Angland, who sends a very nice package. THe
box contained a 1999 World Series duffel bag, a gameday booklet from a
Jets-Steelers game, and a pair of bobblehead dolls -- Dan McCormack,
who was managing the Long Island Ducks; and former Yankees pitcher
David Wells. Of course, I had to look twice, since Wells looked SLIM as
a bobblehead doll.

Dan also sent a pair of cases to house the bobbleheads in.

All in all, a tremendous package. Thanks so much!

In addition to KILLING MY 76 SET LYNN MILLER also adds 11 1969 Topps

was AL batting leaders--Yaz was the ONLY guy in the AL to top .300

Lynn, thank you. You really do set the bar.
While I'm at it, thanks to ALL OF YOU who contributed to the killing
of my 76 set! Times like this you realize how amazing this group
really is. It'd be fun to label from whom each of the cards came,
just to show the team generosity that helped complete it.

Finally, JEFF WHITWORTH hits my 70, 71 and 75 Topps lists. Jeff is
becoming a frequent antagonist to these wantlists. Included were a 70

Not only have these been rolling in while I've been unusually busy,
but Ken and Jeff's arrived the night that I went to start my car,
found the battery dead, called a friend to come jump me, and
discovered that the battery was kaput. Four hours later home than I

Funny how small things can have a big impact. Thanks, you four, and
all you OBCers, for the small kindnesses that really matter in a life.

Included in the 1963 stack was a Washington Senators team card (AWESOME!) which is already in the mail for autographs. Don also included a wide variety of old hockey cards (my first), a rather large stack of Monkees cards (which one is in the mail right now.) I chose to send the card to David Jones first. This will be very cool if all four members are kind enough to sign my card. I cannot wait! Don also sent me a few baseball stamps and one of those really cool large basketball cards. A very intriguing card which Don sent me is from a Vietnam set called the Green Berets. Being the militaria collector that I am, I must now start collecting this set. Thank you for showing me that this set exists, Don. Your packages more then much appreciated. Thank you very very much I certainly appreciate it. THAT would have made for a great package. Then there's a 64 Robin

and then the Mantle was one of five 67s. Plus a couple of schedules.
Pretty good stuff, Don. Thanks!

OBCers --

My daughter received another envelope from Ed Schott today containing a multitude
of animal cards - it really made her day! We are going to try to find
some time this weekend toput together a list for her T-29 Hassan Animals
set, which she probably has about half of, with some dupes. If youhave
any you want to trade, let me know. Thanks again for thinking of Erika,

Take Care,

OBCers --

Mark Talbot has been making up for all those birthdays from before OBC, because
it sure seems like I get a lot of mail from him! Today brought a 1952
Topps Cubbie of Ron Northey, the pride of Darien, Connecticut! According
to the back of the card, Northey's homer in a 1944 game won the longest1-0
game ever decided by a home run, a 15-inning job. How they ever kept
track of ridiculous stats like that before computers is beyond me. Mark
also included some gems for my daughter, Erika - threevery cool avian tobacco
cards. As a matter of fact, we just finished adding Erika's T29 Animal
list to the end of my wantlist. If anyone else collects them, she'd
love to trade. Her cards aren't inthe greatest shape, so any you might
have would be welcome, whether they are on her list or not. She also
has ahandful to trade.

Thanks agan, Mark...although I hope my Illini punish your homestate Spartans

MARK TALBOT sends out a trio of lovely "Birthday Cards" to me for my
celebration (#56). I now am the proud owner of 3 1969 PC cards - Dodgers
-- Hank Aguirre, Paul Popovich and one of my boyhood favorites - 1st
baseman and Outfielder Ron Fairly. Great cards and a good way to begin
my 57th year...

Thanks Mark!

Subject: To clear things up

Hi all!! When I commented in the OBC Rambler that I just learned about the
it I never thought I'd see any reactions to my statement. I sent a personal
note to one collector about my computer problems to explain why I wasn't
getting back to him but I will share it with everyone.
Interlynx, my server, was bought out by primus and they automaticly changed
my email address. I wanted to keep my old address as I've had it for 12 years
and they allowed me to. When I send out emails the 'from' address automaticly
showed the new address(I didn't notice it) and I'd never receivedreturn
emails sent to this address. So now, whenever I send out an email I
must manually change the address in the 'from' box to the correct address(they
can't make it come up naturally). Hopefully I'll remember each time. That's
the only way I can do it. Just thought I'd clear up the issue.
Also, I want to thank Bill Ashton and John Stamper for responding to my appeal
to help me with 2 sets that I'm close to finishing.
I also heard from Jim Wiehe who joined OBC when started up many years ago. He
related a very interesting story of the early days but had not done muchwith
his collection in a while and he helped me nicely with 4 '53 Bowman cards(1
in the tough 113-128 series!!).
My mentor Ray Luurs suggested that I say a few things about my collecting
preferences. I really like the early Bowman cards as they were very scarce
when I was flipping cards in Ottawa, Canada in the late '50's. I collect
the '50's Topps cards too. My trading matereial consists of a ton of early
non-sports, lots of early Hockey cards and many '70's basketball cards inaddition
to Baseball cards from '53 to '64. I also have a lot of OPC Baseball
cards from '65 to '88. My web-site shows my want/have lists and a lotof
Major stars that I'll trade for my wanted major stars. Check it out. Maybe
we can complete a trade Gord Ellis
