The following collectors have graciously sent me cardboard in the past few weeks: Dave Fallen sends (20) Red Rose Tea cards to my daughter Kendall featuring cards from (4) different series. Kendall just loves to open up cards with her Dad. So Dave also sent along something for me, a `53 Topps John Antonelli, a `56 Topps Frank Bolling and a `59 Fleer Ted Williams card. Dave you out did yourself!!! Larry Gersbach also sent along a set of cards for Kendall, a 24 card set from DCA Food called "Fun with Pop" featuring 24 different animals for her thematic collection. They are small coloring pictures, if anyone has additional information about this set I like to hear from you so I can pass the info on to Kendall. Larry also remembers me by sending me a `62 Topps stamp of Pete Runnels, another one off that seldom hit want-list - Thanks from both Kendall and I Larry. Lynn Miller send me my very first Coke caps (eat your heart out Mike), Lynn makes me quite happy with a couple of Tigers - Larry Sherry and my HOM'er Norm Cash. Anything featuring my HOM'ee is greatly appreciated and Lynn gets big kudos for his ever present kindness. Jim Wiehe also sends my Daughter Kendall a "starter" card from a set of Australian Postal Stamp Cards. Jim indicated that this was a dupe sent to him by former OBC'er Neal Holbridge who resided "Down Under". To accompany this gem for Kendall Jim includes a `79-80 Topps Hockey card of Northstar Mike Fidler and a "UV" Alan Tramell card that is always a pleasing sight for a Tiger fan. Thanks Jim. Spike Glidden sends a BIG BOX of 9 pocket pages - I must of asked for these at some point, but there arrival came none too soon as I was just about out of them. So more filing will certainly be in my future. Thanks (I think) Spike for keeping me busy!!! Finally, Andrew Adeboi who many of you know who certainly has the OBC spirit sends me (2) packages featuring (3) `67 OPC cards with Mantle Checklist, Minnie Rojas and Johnny Romano, a `72 OPC of Sonny Jackson and (3) `77 OPC cards featuring Brett/Madlock Batting Leaders, Dennis Eckersley and an unmarked Checklist. Andrew is not a part of this group but his generosity is certainly OBCish in nature - I thought you should know about him. Thanks Andrew!! I'm pretty sure that does it - if I come across anything else I will be sure to chime in again. Thanks to all for so many interesting cards and especially those who found things for my daughter. She really likes her "stuff" - BE WELL!!!! I arrived about 10 a.m and Mike had been there a while, had checked out the show tables and was comfortably seated at Mike's table rifling through boxes of cardboard. As is our custom we took a quick breather and Mike reached into his "bag of tricks" otherwise known as a briefcase and presented me with a team bag full of goodies. I handed over my offering. As I looked over the stash I was pleased to see so many "odd-ball" items for my collection. Mike handed over (6) `62 Topps stamps with Killebrew, Musial, Wilhelm, Snider, Spahn and Jay, (3) `69 Decals of Fregosi, Gonzalez and Helms, a `63 Topps cards of Ken Retzer, a `71 Topps Scratchoff of Claude Osteen, (2) `75 Kellogg's cards one of each of the Jim Hunter variations, and (4) `72 OPC Football cards. What a great start to the show. I also want to thank Mike for "handing over" some great finds so that I could purchase them including a `49 Bowman, (3) `74 OPC stars (Stargell, Palmer and F.Roby) and some `80 Topps Basketball Trio with Kareem, Dr. J and the Iceman all for a couple of buck a piece. It's always nice to meet up with Mike at the show, swap card and spend some time together. I walked away with (18) hits to my `56 Topps back variation quest, (16) assorted Football from `57 thru `62 and a stack of assorted Hockey. I also snatched up a big stack of `70 Topps for the dupe box among other items. Thanks again Mike for the cardboard, the company and reminding me about the show so that I could meet up with you.
