E121 Series 80 ================= To: "OBC-DealerScum@yahoogroups.com" Date: Thu, 26 Apr 2018 00:32:11 +0000 Subject: 1971 Topps baseball starter (629/752 cards) From: Taylor Schock I've finally nailed down the decision to change my collecting habits, but before I get to my actual collection reduction (my own 1971 set will NOT be a part of that), I want to try and recoup a bit from what I've accumulated from sales and shows over the past couple of years. So time to pass on the second set I've been surreptitiously working on the past year. 1971 Topps starter of 629/752 cards. Overall the conservative average is VGbut many tend more toward VG/EX. As with all lots, some better, some worse. Only about a dozen here with staple holes or minor writing on the back (none on the front). While the big 3 aren't here (Ryan, Clemente, Mays), there is quite a bit of star power along with about 80 high numbers including agood number of SPs (see scans for some of them). Stars included are: Jackson, McCovey, Carlton, Kaline, Carew, Stargell, Bench, Brooks, Ted Williams, Aaron, Gibson, Yaz, Killebrew, Palmer, Perez, Brock, Anderson, Baylor/Baker RC, Aparicio, all League Leader, WS, and I believe most (if not all) of the team cards. A few checklists but some are marked (whoops, I guess a couple ARE marked on the front). Basically, the 629 cards consist of everything EXCEPT what is on the missing list below. Missing cards: 5 (Munson), 14 (Concepcion RC), 26 (Blyleven RC) , 54(CL), 83, 100 (Rose) 114, 117, 160 (Seaver) 206 (CL), 228, 270, 276 (Foster RC), 278, 279, 285, 288, 291, 294 310, 325 (Marichal), 331, 332, 335, 341 (Garvey RC), 343, 348, 355, 356, 359, 361 (Sutton), 362, 366, 368, 379, 384 (Fingers), 389, 390, 391 406, 421, 461, 464, 469, 475, 490, 497, 499 (CL) 502, 513 (Ryan), 524, 525 (Banks), 527, 529, 531, 532, 536, 539, 540, 544, 545, 549, 552, 553, 560, 562, 569, 571, 573, 575, 576, 582, 583, 586, 587, 588, 591, 592, 598, 599, 600 (Mays) 604, 606, 607, 609, 619 (CL), 621, 626, 627, 630 (Clemente), 631, 636, 637,640 (Robinson), 643 High Numbers (missing 28) 646, 648 (Matlack RC), 650 (Allen), 656, 658, 661 (Tanner), 664, 675, 676, 678, 680, 692, 700 (Powell) 704, 705, 706, 708, 713 (Marshall), 717, 720 (Alou), 727, 733, 735 (Shannon), 743, 745, 747, 748, 750 (McClain) Scans are attached for the stars and many (but not all) of the SPs. The SPsin the scans are typical of (or maybe slightly worse than) the overall average condition. All the backs of the scanned cards are clean. Asking $325 (I'll cover shipping).
