ITEM DETAILS: - This is the end result of Kent Goto's 1975 Topps x9 set quest. He sent ithome with me from the National. - What you are bidding on today is THE BEST ONE of nine complete sets. See below for info on the other eight. - There were over 10,000 total cards in this project, which means there were 20+ of some cards to choose from. You get the BEST of all 660 painstakingcomparisons. I checked for and took into account writing, creases, corner wear, paper loss, bite marks, pinholes, wax stains, water damage, 'diamond-cut' shapes, centering, photo focus and simple eye appeal. This set suffersfrom almost none of those issues. A lot of very nice cards. - Please note the pictures below. Email or text if you cannot view the pics, or want to see a certain additional card (within reason - I'm a volunteer). - Also worth noting is that while Kent had OBC send in tons of cards to help with the quest, at the end he procured quite a few of the major star cards all at once to finish up. I say that to make the point that these aren't all "OBC quality," if you take my meaning. AUCTION DETAILS: - The bidding starts at $1 as soon as you read this. Bid early and often. - Bidding ends at 11:00 PM Eastern time on Saturday, December 9th. - Bids can be sent several ways: ----- directly to me at uthminsta@hotmail.com ----- via a post on the OBC Facebook page. You can join by clicking: https://www.facebook.com/groups/oldbaseballcards/ ----- text 618-509-3600 to bid or request the current high bid. Please DO NOT - A daily update will be posted on the Dealer Scum server, and a couple extra notices will be sent out within the final 24 hours. - This is to put funds aside for 'scholarships' to the National and other such benevolent endeavors as the Advisory Committee deems worthy. PAYMENT DETAILS: - Shipping and insurance is included in your bid. Canadian and Scottish members, please help me out and do the research on what it will cost to ship to you. We're looking at a box that weighs about three pounds. - Fee-free PayPal is preferred and will expedite you getting your cards. Check or money order are accepted. Make payments to me and when it is received / clears, I will ship. If mailing your payment, you need to do it immediately after the auction ends, as I will be away from home for much of the end of the year. - All remaining funds - ALL THE PROFIT - will then be given to the OBC account, for use at the Advisory Committee's discretion as noted above. THE REST OF THE SETS: - At the conclusion of this single auction, the remaining eight complete sets will be made available simultaneously, at fixed prices, and at incremental discounts to the amount of the first set. - There will also be a NEAR SET (we'll call this #10), and depending on interest, a PARTIAL SET (#11). Many of the stars will be included, and noted in the item descriptions. - Pictures will be available for these sets / near sets as well. - These sets (as well as this auction) will be on the Dealer Scum server, so if you are not subscribed to that, go there now and request to join! https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/OBC-DealerScum/info If you have any questions, others probably do too.
