It ended up that I picked up 2 shoe boxes thatcontained about 5000 cards, mostly from the '70s. As I was checking out I noted about 10 bottles of wine setting on the floor and remarked to the guychecking me out that they were going to be able to celebrate on Sunday at the end of the sale with all that wine. He said, you know, you're the firstperson that said anything about those bottles. We can't legally SELL them, but if you want one, go ahead and grab one. So I did, and apparently started a trend with the people behind me. LOL After sorting through the boxes and updating stuff in my collection, I havethe lots/starters available below, priced in an attempt to help recoup some of what I have into them. (I also have more than an 800 count box of RAOKdupes sitting here as well for another thread). All prices include shipping. If for some reason, you might be interested inall of them, I can do all of them for $145 (shipping included). Basically your buying the 1975 and 1977 and getting the rest thrown in. It's much easier to just ship one big box. :) 1975 Topps - 490 cards (74% of the set) - average VG condition - $95 This is an awesome larger starter, which is not just a bunch of commons with some minor stars thrown in, but some major stuff here as well. See below for a list of stars/listed cards. Tough call on average condition. I'm calling it VG since there are a quite a number of VG cards here, some but not many are lesser, but a number of the nicer ones have a small "k" or "s" written on the back (almost always in pencil). Between the s&k and checked teamchecklists, I would say about 20-25% marked. Just for fun, I erased the "s" on the back of one card and it came off easily (if you are into that). I don't think I've seen any with writing on the front though (but there may be a few). There ARE some nice cards in here as well, including some of the numbers below. Sorry I didn't take time to 'name' or 'grade' each one, but wanted to provide more info on the larger value cards. If you want additional details, let me know. If you consider the overall condition for these asVG, you will not be disappointed. Cards included: 1 (Aaron HL, VG "k" card), 2, 3, 4, 5 (Ryan HL, VG), 7, 20 (Munson, VG), 21, 29, 50 (Brooks, VG/EX), 60, 70 (Schmidt, VG), 80, 100, 130, 140, 150, 180, 185, 189-212 (MVPs, missing 190,196,201,204,209), 220, 228 (Brett RC, VG, VERY nice card and would be much better except for small 1/4 inch long and a couple mm wide stain within front and back border), 230,260 (Bench, GD), 307-313 (Leaders), 320 (Rose, VG), 335, 370 (Seaver, VG/EX), 450, 461-466 (WS), 530, 560, 580, 616 (Rice RC, EXMT "k" card), 620 (Carter RC, EXMT "s" card), 622, 623, 640 Only major (greater than $10 BV) cards missing are: Winfield, Yount RC, Yaz, Reggie, Ryan, Aaron 1976 Topps - 400 cards (57% of the set, including regular and traded cards)- average GD condition - $22 These actually appear nicer overall on the front than the '75s, except thatsome must have used, and used, and used industrial strength rubber bands and rubber-banded the heck out of these. At first I thought it was water damage, but nope. About 1/3 to 1/2 are affected to one extent or another, otherwise we'd be looking at average EX condition. Still quite a few with minimal or no banding effect. Not nearly the star power here though. Cards included: 95 (Brooks, GD), 100, 150, 160 (Winfield, VG), 194, 250, 270, 325, 340, 342, 355, 400, 441, 450, 520, 525, 599, 600 (Seaver, GD), 650 (Munson, GD), 250T, 592T 1977 Topps - 466 cards (70% of the set) - average VG-EX condition - $45 Again, not a lot of star power, but a fairly consistent VG to EX+ conditioncards here with some worse but mostly better. From: "Matt Yudt" Well, that was quite a successful DS I did last night/tonight. 18 envelopes and 2 puffies. (Check out the before and after pick of my desk). I sold 65 of Joce's 55 topps and enough of my own DS dupes to now pick up my last 2 60 topps to complete the set! Easily 150 cards or so. So I thank everyone for that. If you haven't sent the papyal yet, I trust you will. I want to thin out my dupes box over the holidays, so stay tuned for some waivers. I'll probably split it into 'topps/commons upto 1970' and 'everything else'. One last thing - in exchange for helping my old friend move some things in his unbelievable garage of cards/memorabilia, he 'loaned' me a few thousand topps cards from 73-79. These are BEAUTIES. I know most of us have these sets complete, but if anyone is working on them - or needs a few upgrades, I will see what I can find for you. There is also a binder with some stars / special cards, which we didn't discuss prices on, but we can figure that out OBC forever!
