I will serve as the election commissioner this year, accepting nominations from February 1 until February 14for candidates for one (1) non-voting OBCAC Facilitator, seven (7) OBCAC voting members and one (1) alternate voting member. Members shall serve on the OBCAC for a one-year term, beginning March 1, 2017 until February 28, 2018. Please read the following instructions carefully. You must be nominated by a group member as self-nominations will not be accepted. It is required to have the potential nominee's permission before submitting his name for consideration. A member may be nominated for both the non-voting and voting positions on the ballot. Should any member be elected to both positions, he will only be able to serve in one capacity; the next highest vote getter will be considered elected for the position declined by the top vote getter. Any member ofOBC for three (3) years or more is qualified to run for a position on the OBCAC. Inactive members are not allowed to be nominated nor serve on the OBCAC, but are eligible to nominate candidates and vote in the election. Please copy me at jwi62@hotmail.com on the following two emails: 1) the nomination email (which should include the permission to nominate the candidate) from an OBC member nominating a candidate for facilitator and/or voting member with OBC NOMINATION in the subject line. 2) the acceptance email from the nominee accepting the position on the ballot with OBC ACCEPTANCE in the subject line. Important: if the two emails do not satisfy the above requirements, they will not be considered, no exceptions. Once I have received both e-mails, I will contact both parties to confirm the candidate will be on the ballot by responding to the acceptance email. If I do not receive the acceptance email by February 14, it will be understood the person is not interested in running for the position. Voting will begin on February 15 and run through February 28. I will email instructions on the 15th and if you have any questions about the elections, please email or call me.
