Its probably a good time to remind members that these are all things that you can (and should) do yourself directly from the OBC homepage. Here's From the OBC Homepage, click the "Directory" link in the left frame. Next, under "OBC Member Features" click the "Update your address or collecting goals" link. This takes you to the OBC Members Profile Services page. Lastly, click the "Update OBC Profile information" link. Select your name from thedrop-down list, then enter your login password. The OBC Member Profile Update screen you are presented with allows you to add or update your: Email address Wantlist (or website) URL Postal address Telephone numbers Ebay & AIM names Collecting preferences (which appear alongside your public facing entry on the OBC Directory page) Biography (there are currently 75 Bios posted, although many are for members who have left OBC. Why not write a few paragraphs and let your fellow members know something about you outwith our common cardboard fetish?) You are also able to complete a fairly nifty tickbox grid indicating which specific sets you are currently working on. This information feeds directlyinto the "Who Collects What?" webpage. Once you've made your changes, simply click the "Update Profile" button, and you're good to go! From the OBC Members Profile Update page, you are also able to change your password, and access Wayne Delia's General Help File for carrying out profile update tasks. Although OBCers are always ready, willing and able to help out a fellow member, please be aware that the vast majority of these types of edits can be easily handled by you yourself, so please have a crack at it before asking someone else do it for you. I wanted to let you know that Dad lost his battle with cancer in May. We wanted to reach his OBC friends but couldn't get into his facebook acct. I am sorry if you hadn't heard." I had the pleasure of meeting up with Terry on a few occasions including a couple visits up this way. The last time being a visit with his son, who had a doctor's appointment a few years ago at one of the Boston hospitals to see a specialist regarding his diabetes. They stayed here a night and treated me to breakfast before spending most of the day at the hospital. I checked back and found out that he went inactive around 2010 and only now realized probably why. I wish I had found out sooner, as it's been almost a year since his passing. Even though Terry was inactive I havethe samesense of loss when others from our ranks have passed. It is awkward that it happened so long ago but we at least have this forum to share our grief. Donna emailed me and told me to let everyone know how much Terry enjoyed OBC and all the friends he made through the group and that Terry loved the times he got together with some of us, and itgave him great memories! Basically, if you want to contribute to the auction, send me a description of your lot. I'll take contributions through next Sat, then get the auction started Sat night or Sunday. I'll get the auction rules out when it starts...for now, just shoot me your contributions...don't mail me anything - you'll mail direct to the winner later!
