I will act as the election commissioner this year, accepting nominations from February 1 until February 14 for candidates for one (1) non-voting OBCACFacilitator and for seven (7) OBCAC voting members and one (1) alternate voting member. Members shall serve on OBCAC for a one-year term, beginning March 1, 2012 until February 28, 2013. You must be nominated by a group member, as self-nominations will not be accepted. It is required to have the potential nominee's permission before submitting his/her name for consideration. A member may be nominated for both the non-voting and voting positions on the ballot. Should any member be elected to both positions, he/she will only be able to serve in one capacity; the next highest vote getter will then be considered elected for the position declined by the top vote getter. Any member of OBC for three (3) years or more is considered to be qualified to run for a position on OBCAC. INACTIVE members are not allowed to be nominated nor serve on the OBCAC. Please copy me at typecard@aol.com on two e-mails: 1) the nomination email - from an OBC member nominating a candidate for facilitator and/or voting member (again, only after receiving permission to nominate that candidate) with OBC NOMINATION in the subject line 2) the acceptance email - from the nominee accepting the position on the ballot with OBC ACCEPTANCE in the subject line. Once I have received both e-mails, I will contact both parties indicating that their candidate will be on the ballot. If I don't hear from both sides, I will assume that the person is not interested in running for the office. Inactive members are eligible to both nominate candidates and to vote in the Voting will begin mid-February and I will send out instructions at that time. If you have any questions about any aspect of the election, please emailme.
