Joe Denning has applied to become our newest member. Please take a few minutes to review Joe's application on the OBC website, and feel free to make comments, especially if you've dealt with Joe in the past. Please post your comments directly on Joe's page by using the "OBC Enter Comments" option on the application. While I'm happy to receive your comments, if you send them directly to me I have to then post them on the application, which is an extra step. To get to the application: Go to oldbaseball.com; Click the "Directory" tab on the left; Click the "View New OBC Applications" in the hyperlink at the top of the page; Select your name from the menu & enter your password; Click on Joe Denning's name. Your New Member Guy, ================= To: OBC Annoucements Date: Sat, 29 Oct 2011 22:34:46 -0400 From: Joe Isaac Subject: October report Hi OBC, The season is finally over, congrats to the Cards and their fans, that was an impressive last 2 games. The AC was a busy crew this month and here is what they discussed. The AC decided to suspend the $10 annual dues for this year. For the past 2 years, the only expenditures have been web hosting fees. Jim Pearce, a former member, has returned to active status. The AC encourages you, if interested, to post your photo on the Ramblings server that will be hosted on the OBC page to be viewed on the OBC Member Biography page. It would be appreciated that you submit a photo no larger than 150 x 150 pixels. The AC also agreed to have an additional person that can serve as webmasterwhen the need arises. This person will be appointed by the AC. If anyone is interested, please send me an email. The Thanks server discussion has concluded. The ROC will be updated soon toreflect the changes. The Thanks server will be used for both vintage and UV cards, however, detailed description of UV cards received should be reserved for the UV server.Currently, only pre-1981 stuff is reserved for the Thanks, Wantlist and Ramblings servers. Note this differs from the current situation in that members are told implicitly that its OK to use the main server for UV thanks. A more detailed description of the UV server and its usage will be added tothe ROC. If you are not and wish to be on the UV server, please contact Mark Talbot and he will get you set up. Our membership has over 150 active members with several members named Mike,Bob and Joe (I am sure there are others). It would be helpful for you to include in your thanks the full name of the person you are thanking that can better identify the cardboard donor. Some of us belong to other groups and, as a courtesy, please refrain from using the server to thank non-OBC members. Also as a courtesy, please combine your posts rather than issuing several thanks in succession. Remember, if you want the AC to consider a topic, please post it to the Ramblings server, send a message to the AC or myself. Your AC members are Glenn Codere, Mike Diamanti, Tom Housley, Ken Morganti, Mike Rich, George Vrechek and Mac Wubben.
