================= To: OBC Annoucements Date: Wed, 3 Feb 2010 14:03:31 -0500 From: Joe Isaac Subject: OBCAC elections - Election Commissioner volunteer and call for Fellow OBCers. It is that time of the year for the OBCAC election. Before we dispense with the details of the election, we are in need of an Election Commissioner. If there is someone who does not plan to run for any position and is interested in doing so, the first person who replies to me will be Election Commissioner for 2010. Nominations will run through February 14 for one non-voting OBCAC Facilitator and seven OBCAC voting members. Members will serve on the OBCAC for oneyear from March 1, 2010 through February 28, 2011. You must be nominated by a group member - self nominations will not be accepted. To qualify, you must have at least 3 years of OBC membership to be nominated. It is required that you get permission from a potential nominee BEFORE submitting their name for nomination. For those who wish to nominate someone, make sure to indicate in the subject line OBC NOMINATION =96 Voting Member or OBC NOMINATION =96 Facilitator. A member may be nominated and appear on the ballot for both positions. Should the same member be elected to both positions, that member must accept only one of those positions, and the next highest vote recipient for the declined position will be considered elected. Inactive members are eligible to both submit nominations as well as vote in the elections. The nominated member needs to send the email thread showing their nomination from another member and their acceptance of nomination. Until an Election Commissioner has been appointed, save this email. An Election Commissioner will be appointed by February 5 and will be responsible for accepting all nominations, counting of the ballots and announcingthe results of the election. It is the Commissioner's responsibility to obtain AC nominee's acceptance of nomination prior to Feb 15. If nomination is not accepted by Feb 15, the nominee will not appear on the ballot. I will announce the Election Commissioner by Friday the 5th and they will take over with additional details. Thank you. Some of you have responded to the Ramblings server on a few dealers (Roger Neufeldt - that 52 Topps story is priceless!! - , Jimmy Cardacia, Zack Grakal so far) and next month there will be a review of all the Dealers to make sure they conform to the OBC standard. The end of February is coming this weekend and that means a new AC will take over in March.
