To be fair to all and those who did not get a chance to respond, I will continue to accept additional volunteers until tomorrow evening, 8/2 at18:00 EST (that's 6 pm - sorry I have been using the military time for work for the past 5 months, tough to break habits). Once all the votes are in, the AC will vote within the next week. In the event of a tie vote, we will cross that bridge if necessary. Thanks to all for keeping the group andthe AC flowing smoothy. Shawn Torrez' application has been up for a long time - and I've e-mailed him twice, letting him know his application is incomplete, with no response. If you have had any experience with either of these guys, please take a fewminutes & go to the website & post your comments. ================= To: OBC Annoucements Date: Thu, 27 Aug 2009 21:05:28 -0400 From: Joe Isaac Subject: August report Hi OBCers: The month of August was a busy one - Geno needed to step down due to military obligations. The AC voted Ken Morganti to fill the vacant spot until the end of the term. Also, Ed Schott was elected as alternate AC member. The site appeared to be hacked (not Stan Hacked) yesterday as extra URL references were inserted into the "body" section of the HTML code, not allowing access to the main page. This problem has been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience in the past day. Here are the results of the lastest discussion by the AC. - Motion to add Randy Kniffen to the OBC Friendly Dealer page - PASSED 7-0.Randy's info will be posted soon. - Motion to remove Sims from the OBC Friendly Dealer page - PASSED 6-1. - Motion to add new language to the third paragraph of the Want List section of the ROC indicated in italics as follows: For the safety of the individual members want lists should not include personal information such as addresses and phone numbers. To maintain the integrity of the OBC website under no circumstance is advertising to be placed on individual sites that are maintained thru the OBC site. Since OBC is more than just the cardboard we trade, under certain circumstances a member may refrain from keeping an online want list. The OBCAC should have an accounting from any member who does not wish to keep or have a link to their online webpage. - PASSED 7-0. In addition to the above changes, other administrative work was done to thesite. The website awards from the home page was removed since a majority of the links on the page were no longer valid.
