I've now heard from all but 30 members. Thanks to those who responded - much appreciated. I've taken the additional step in sending this note to thethanks and ramblings server to ensure maximum distribution. If you've already responded, there's no need to again. Youse guys who haven't yet responded, please do. This is a small but very important part of your responsibility as an OBC member. I look forward to hearing from every member this time Cut & paste job from the original note: Per the OBC Rules of Conduct (http://www.oldbaseball.com/obcroc.html#currmem), every six months a poll is taken, in which all (including inactive and new) members must state their desire to remain on the membership rolls. This is partly to make sure that allmembers are still wanting to retain membership, and also to make sure thateveryone's email address is current. Please reply with a simple yes or no. Any member that doesn't respond to this membership poll, again per the Rules of Conduct, will be removed from the rolls. I will conduct the poll for just over a month (until the end of September),with several reminders. I pledge to do my part to make sure you have fullopportunity to remain in OBC. After one month all non-responding names will be forwarded to the Advisory Council for removal consideration. Please don't let your name be one of them! ================= Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2007 09:56:12 -0400 To: obc-announcements@yahoogroups.com From: "Steve Rittenberg" Subject: Recent news from the OBC-AC This report covers the period up to September 1. The AC is talking about actions to honor Dave Kolenda but we have not made a decision 1. OBC-AC Facilitator As a few of you may remember, Ken sent out a message asking if anyone is willing to step in for Geordie Calvert as the OBC-AC Facilitator. Geordie began his one-year term in March but a new job has not allowed him enough time to keep up so he asked the AC to find a replacement. I have served as the Interim Facilitator until we get a new Facilitator and he formally takes over. A couple of guys responded to Ken's note. We discussed amongst ourselves and elected JOE ISAAC as the guy to serve the remainder of Geordie's term. Joe has already been active behind the scenes as he tries to get the rest of us on track (think: herding cats). 2. OBC (n)ew (m)ember (g)uy Peter Iversen has served as (n)ew (m)ember (g)uy for a while now and told us its time for a change. We have voted PETER MEAD as the (n)ew (m)ember (g)uy. His responsiblities are to monitor the applications for membership, determine which ones are ready to be voted on by the AC, and shepherd people through the process. There has been no other OBC-AC business since the last report. This is my final report as the Interim Facilitator. Take it away, Joe! Your OBC-AC is Steve Rittenberg, Mike Rich, Mark Talbot, Andy Cook, Wayne Delia, Ken Morganti, Spike Glidden
