I guess it's time to proceed with the next big auction. I'll be accepting donations for the next few weeks/months here (and at the Ft. Washington shows in March 4-6 & April 29-May 1 and probably Vegas you're going to any of those). I'll make another announcement when the first lots are ready to go. There's no huge hurry, so don't panic - I think it took a couple months to organize everything for Rick Redpath's auction. If you're new to this or haven't participated before, here's the deal. You can send me just about anything I can put on eBay and ship out to the winning bidder. Send your dupes - stars or commons, it doesn't matter. I've listed some coins, pins, mini bats and even some UV stuff in the past. No donation is too big No donation is too small either. I'll try to combine donations into lots, but still offer a bunch of different things to bid on. (The Redpath auction hadaround 135 lots total). Doug has already offered to use OBC's general fund to handle any Paypal transactions. I'll also be offering some of my dupes at $5 each for those interested in cash donations... you can decide later if you want me send you any of my 1978 Craig Swan cards :-) Let's see if we can make this another award winning auction! (OK, so I got titled "Industry Expert" by a writer for Buckett, but hey, it's still an award... kinda). Anyway, the address donations is Ken Morganti 41 Fuller St. Everett, MA 02149-4233 Oh yeah, if you include any cards for the 'auctioneer', please designate that clearly... of course you can also send cards I need to be included in the auction too - I'll just have to shill bid on my own auctions TAYL, Ken M - letter from Tom Curtis to Doug Smith follows: > Hi Doug, > I finally stopped in at Johns today while I was in Bartow for an > appointment. With that being said, the fine fellows of the OBCAC did a fine job this year and I would like to extend my thanks to them for their work over the last 12 months. It is not easy to keep OBC running along the right path, but that's what these guys did this year. If you get a chance, please say thank you to the following guys for giving their time and dedication to the group to keep it what it is today: Ken Morganti, Joshua Levine, Brian Lindholme, Bob Donaldson, Jim Hatch, Doug Smith, and Mike Wierzbicki In the next couple of days, the new AC will take the reigns, so thanks again fellas for handing over a very worthy ship! Take Care,
