================= Date: Sat, 02 Jun 2001 21:42:15 -0700 Subject: Looking for OBC volunteer effort From: Wayne Delia One of the many things that makes this group outstanding is the personal assistance we're able to give each other, drawing on our strength and diversity to help out those among us who can really use a hand. I've just learned of a situation involving one of our OBC members who is looking for someone willing to act in a sponsor role in a twelve-step program dealing with an unspecified addiction. I've offered to help in any way I can, and will do my best to fill part of the role, but I haven't been through the twelve-step recovery myself, which seems to be a big qualification in the sponsor job. If anyone else out there in OBC-land has experience or familiarity with the process, and is willing to assist, please let me know immediately. The role responsibilities may include being available by phone 24/7 for occasional talks, infrequent personal communication by email, and a sensitive, understanding nature. The rewards include (but are not limited to) a deep sense of achievement when (not if) this issue is resolved. Obviously, for confidentiality reasons I can't and won't divulge any further details (such as identity) until a prospective co-sponsor is willing to commit. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who is willing and able to help. Wayne M. After an e-mail from an alert Andy Baran, I became aware of this. Luckily, I was home sick today, so after some time on the phone with our web hosting company, I determined that our domain name registration of oldbaseball.com had expired in April. It took them a month and a half, but they finally pulled the plug on us. I guess with all the different POCs for the website over the years, the renewal info got lost in the shuffle. To make a long story short, I have renewed our domain name, but it may take a day or two before it is back up and running. In the meantime, you can access the site via its numerical address at http://207.201.165.245/ Dan Austin - dan@iamdanaustin.com Visit me at http://iamdanaustin.com "How far that little candle throws his beams!
